Public Services Foundation of Canada Peterborough Town Hall Forum and Hearing posted Jan. 13, 2012
The Ontario public sector is under attack. The McGuinty government is planning painful cuts to public services, as high as 33 per cent in some ministries. The agencies government pays for are on the chopping block too. From the smallest women’s shelter to the biggest hospital, no public service - or job - is safe.
Your union is joining with the Public Services Foundation of Canada (PSFC) to create The Commission for Quality Public Services and Tax Fairness, which is holding community hearings and town hall forums across Ontario in January and February. We want to hear from frontline workers, services users, community groups, and experts on public services and tax fairness. Most of all, we want to hear from you. Don’t miss this opportunity to make your voice heard! Peterborough Town Hall Forum: Tuesday Jan. 17, 2012, 7-9 p.m. Peterborough Hearing: Wed. Jan. 18, 2012; 9:30 a.m. - 12 noon
Both held at Shiners Association, 1757 Sherbrook Street W. (google maps link)

Let Trent Know Your Overtime! posted August 23rd, 2010
With workload as an issue, the Bargaining Team has been told by
Trent that staff overtime has decreased over the past year. This data
may not be accurate because there are only scattered records reporting
overtime for which time off was taken in compensation.
So report your overtime!
Let's tell the University exactly how much extra work we've had
to do to get the job done, with staff cuts, few new hirings, and
increasing student population. Read the Bargaining Team's letter for more info and how to report.
